Gestational Diabetic Diet During Pregnancy?? Help?

I am 29 weeks pregnant and I just found out I have g/d the day before yesterday. I’m on a 2,000 calorie a day diet and they’re giving me a dietician but not for another week and a half so what should I be eating?? I’m really worried about doing all of this right because obviously I want my baby healthy. What should I be eating until I see a dietician!?

You should eat lean proteins (fish, chicken, pork, etc) and lots of fresh veggies. Limit carbohydrates, which include breads/grains, starches (potatoes), fruits, juices, and completely avoid sweets, including soda. Your body does need SOME carbohydrates, so don’t cut them out completely. The only thing you drink should be water or an occasional small glass of milk.
